Faculty of Education Enhances Global Connections through IPDA 2026 Conference and Coventry University Partnership Discussions

On 5–6 June 2026, Assoc. Prof. Le Hieu Hoc, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), and Chair of IPDA Vietnam, participated in the Annual Conference of the International Professional Development Association (IPDA) held in Dublin, Ireland. The conference, themed “The Professional Learning Atlas: Mapping Frontiers in Research, Policy, and Practice,” brought together scholars, educational leaders, and practitioners from around the world to discuss emerging trends and innovations in professional learning.

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Le Hieu Hoc delivered a presentation entitled “From Professional Development to Professional Learning Ecosystem: Journey of IPDA Vietnam.” The presentation highlighted the initiatives and experiences of the Faculty of Education in promoting professional learning for university lecturers, school teachers, students, and educational leaders through research, innovation, international collaboration, and community engagement. The presentation attracted considerable interest from international delegates and showcased Vietnam’s efforts in advancing professional learning in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Following the conference, on 8 June 2026, Assoc. Prof. Le Hieu Hoc visited Coventry University, United Kingdom, where he held discussions with Professor Katherine Wimpenny, Director of the Centre for Global Learning (GLEA), and Assoc. Prof. Dang Que Anh. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for collaboration in research, academic programmes, staff development, and international initiatives for both faculty members and students. The two sides also exchanged ideas on potential cooperation in educational technology, innovative pedagogies, digital competence development, and the application of artificial intelligence in education.
A key outcome of the visit was the discussion of a roadmap for supporting HUST academic staff in pursuing doctoral studies at Coventry University, contributing to the long-term development of academic capacity and international research collaboration between the two institutions.
The mission to Ireland and the United Kingdom not only strengthened the international visibility and partnerships of the Faculty of Education but also opened up new opportunities for collaborative research, academic exchange, and professional development. These activities reaffirm the Faculty’s commitment to fostering innovation, international engagement, and lifelong professional learning in education.
