In the past two decades, advances in technology have propelled globalization and digital transformation, creating many high-demand jobs that require students to have the necessary skills to succeed in future careers. 

Moreover, the recent COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated why online education should be an integral part of teaching and learning. By integrating technology into existing training activities, instead of just using it as a crisis management tool, educational institutions, organizations, and businesses can harness online learning as a powerful educational tool.
Effectively using digital learning tools in the classroom can enhance student engagement, help teachers improve their teaching methods, and create conditions for personalized learning, thereby helping learners develop essential 21st-century skills. With over 25 years of experience in training teachers in the field of engineering and technology for schools nationwide, along with a team of highly qualified specialized lecturers, the Faculty of Education Science & Technology at Hanoi University of Science and Technology has always been at the forefront of applying technological advancements, particularly in information technology and communication, to education. It effectively integrates technology with education in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Since 2019, the Faculty of Education Science & Technology has developed an educational technology program with a modern approach to train high-quality human resources to meet the demands of this emerging field.

The Educational Technology program is designed to equip graduates with the following skills:

  1. Ability to design and develop multimedia learning tools and modern teaching equipment for primary, vocational, and higher education.
  2. Ability to design and develop interactive educational software (educational games, simulations, VR-AR).
  3. Ability to design and develop digital learning content (e-learning lectures, image quizzes) for online courses.
  4. Ability to design and develop online training portals; operate and administer online learning systems.
  5. Ability to design and develop digital learning environments.
  6. Ability to research, propose, design, and develop digital transformation solutions in education, teaching, and training.
  7. Critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills applicable in life and professional environments.
  8. Ability to participate in teaching multimedia communication education.
  9. Self-learning and research skills in the field of educational science and communication.

Graduates of the Educational Technology program can work in various positions:

  1. Business Analyst for educational organizations, products, and services.
  2. Administrator of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS).
  3. Designer and creator of multimedia learning content (videos, e-books, simulations, VR, AR, educational games).
  4. Designer and creator of online courses (MOOCs, e-learning, blended learning).
  5. Designer of learning materials focusing on STEAM/STEM or STEM education, teachers in STEAM/STEM education models.
  6. Content developer for educational programs on television, radio stations, media channels, and social networks.
  7. Technician in online learning system administration, designer and developer of online training portals.
  8. Training coordinator in businesses, schools, and organizations.
  9. Continued education at the master's and doctoral levels in the fields of educational science, teaching methods (educational technology orientation).

Note (*): High school graduates in 2024 with an average GPA of 8.0 or above in cultural subjects (excluding Physical Education and National Defense Education) over the three academic years of grades 10, 11, and 12, and with an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, may apply for talent admission under Form 1.3 (Admission based on competency profile combined with interview).

1.    Students in the Education Management program experience modern teaching methods:

  • B-learning (blended learning).
  • Project-based learning.
  • Learning by Doing.

2.  Students choose one of three specialized orientations:

  • Multimedia Education Development: 2D/3D Modeling - Animation - Artificial Intelligence - AR/VR/Gamification or DGBL...
    Digital Learning Environment: E-learning, B-learning, Multidimensional Learning Environment, STEAM/STEM Education, Publishing digital media, digital learning materials...
    Digital training to serve personnel development in businesses adapting to Industry 4.0.

3.    Besides the theoretical knowledge, the training program is designed to ensure:

  • 25% of the training time for students to work on projects/internships at businesses.
  • 30% of the training time for Practical/experimental methods in professional labs.

4.    Opportunities to participate in academic exchanges at Shibaura Institute of Technology (Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan) and advanced universities in developed countries.

  • Research exchange: 03 - 06 months
  • Study exchange with credit accumulation: 01 - 02 semesters.
  • Participation in gPBL (global project-based learning) projects with international students.
